About the Duke of Devon Established in 2005, and located next to the Sheboygan River on the shores of beautiful Lake Michigan, The Duke of Devon, English Pub and Eatery brings a little bit of authentic England to Wisconsin.  Based on a Devon country pub that the family of one of the Duke’s co-owners owned for generations, the Duke of Devon is as near to being “a real English pub” that you can possibly experience “on this side of the pond” without visiting England. The interior offers a cozy “oldie worldy” atmosphere with a lot of interesting English memorabilia on display ranging from a Coldstream Guards parade jacket (actually used at Buckingham Palace) to a genuine beheading axe, that supposedly brings good luck if kissed! The fantastic and unique selection of beer quickly spirits you back across the Atlantic and before your second pint is finished it would be easy to think that you were sitting on the River Thames and not the Sheboygan River! Very importantly, a central theme of the Duke is the fantastic lunch and dinner menu that can be experienced six days a week.  The award winning menu offers many examples of English culinary excellence including many of the dishes that made world famous English chefs such as Gordon Ramsey, Jamie Oliver and Delia Smith global household names.  From the Duke’s incredible Fish and Chips (with mushy peas and malt vinegar) that our chefs were sent to England to perfect, to our Indian curries and poppadum’s, that reflect England’s incredible food diversity the menu at the Duke is simply a gourmet’s delight! Lastly, like any English pub as soon as you walk through the door you will feel at home.  You can either enjoy a drink at the bar or, weather permitting, on the riverside deck.  Alternatively, you can cozy up next to the fireplace or in a curtained booth and enjoy a meal to remember.  Whatever your choice, while you may arrive as a stranger, we’ll be sure that you leave as a friend. Cheers for now and we look forward to seeing you soon.
